Fleeting Glimpses

Here comes the first autumnal chill of the year
it brings beautiful little dreams from the future
The yellow harvest moon smiles gentle and sweet
he has a thousand different stories to tell tonight
but the world doesn't want to pause and listen
The wood nymphs slowly retreat into the shadows
while the creator keeps pursuit of his elusive muse
The lute player ceases the delightful summer song
a somber tune is perhaps more appropriate for the season
Golden brown wheat fileds shimmer and shiver slightly
filling the air with a rich, sweet scent of the grains
This is the season of wolves and tigers and it is mine
the colors of my dreams bloom gloriously upon every tree
and I catch fleeting glimpses of life; circles of light and darkness
a melange of laments, longings and of moments trapped in time
What a beautiful thing life truly is!
